TRAIL GUIDELINES

Wayne County’s trails offer a wonderful chance to spend time in the great outdoors!

Before you visit, be sure to check out the guidelines below to learn more about how to share the trail and steward the environment.

The trail is shared by hikers, bikers, walkers, and others. Horses are permitted on some trails where indicated.

☀️ Trail is open sun up to sun down ☀️

No motor vehicles allowed, including ATVs, unless otherwise specified. Scooters, skateboards, motorized wheelchairs, and e-bikes are permitted

Always keep right, except to pass

Announce passing to other users – such as ‘Passing on the left’

When there is oncoming traffic, groups of two or more should be single file until passed

It is recommended that all trail users have a buddy

Move off trail when stopped

Yield to emergency vehicles

No trespassing on private property bordering the trail

Dogs are permitted. Clean up after your pet

Take out what you bring in

All users yield to horses

Bicyclist yield to all other users

Know your limitations

Keep your equipment in good condition

Check for maintenance problems before you start

Wear proper clothing and safety attire

Softer surfaces along the side of the trail may be better for walkers, joggers and runners

Alcohol or drugs are not permitted

No hunting on or near the trail

No fires
